3/5 - FallenCity - Adrienne Young

Whoa. This is one of those books that takes you a min to collect yourself after that last chapter.
This is book 1 in a duology, so go into it knowing that.
The world-building was fascinating, and thorough. A walled city, inner circle most protected is the most elite and the decision-makers for all, and the Lower City is the working class who has their fates decided by the Magistrates of the Citadel. You know where this is going, however, there is an element of intervention by the Gods. Therein lies the action of this book.
The story largely focuses on Maris and Luca and their actions and consequences.
I am really looking forward to book 2!!!

Thank-you, Adrienne Young, Saturday Books and St. Martin's Press, for this complimentary copy. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

I am sad to report that Fallen City by Adrienne Young was not a favorite. I still love her though! Thank you, Saturday Books and Macmillan Audio, for the free e-ARC/ALC.
