bad and nonsensical approach imo. but then I'd like to see civil service faststream redirected towards career-changers...

Good stuff here. I'd add there's also unhelpful class/social stratification, with those on the well-established faststream-> policy -> treasury -> minister-handling trajectory to seniority being the officers, and everyone else being troops.
I’ve argued that the Civil Service’s problems are best framed as structural and cultural, rather than a function of individuals.

Cultures are made up of norms that are sustained by language and behaviours.

So what norms does the CS need to tackle to be more effective?

Also, I’d say UK had an at least proportionate number in senior positions and UK-priority areas, a disproportionately high number of secondees, and that any shortfall was largely down to the UK CS’s lack of commitment and ending the European Faststream.

Found a solution in the mean time: just telling youtube's default video player to fuck right off :)

This extension lets me buffer the entire ass video along with some other nice additions, this is good :3

Honestly seeing a lot of not well informed commentary on FastStream internships so despite my experience being very old will go thru the points being raised.

My bottom line is that this was a really good opportunity for me and I would encourage eligible people to apply.
I was lucky enough to do the disability internship back in 2008. This honestly seems fine and I don't understand the backlash: happy to see the scheme used to address problems in hiring.

When I was at GDS I did interviewing for DDAT Faststream. Really hard work but very rewarding. Would encourage more people to get involved on interviewing side.

it needs to go hand in hand with stuff like Darlo. I did a faststream summer placement. The folks at DWP in Newcastle were lovely but it was clear from the 1 day of the placement I spent in Whitehall that I'd had quite a different experience to those who were able to to spend a summer in London.

I've been dealing closely with the CS for many years. Sadly, lots of the good, experienced CS's left under the last Govt. You've got Faststream u-30s heading up key teams who are bright & willing, but simply have no real world work experience (which, I should stress, is not their fault).

bloody qualcomm has stuff like "faststream" to send high quality audio both directions, a audio-return "backchannel". which just keeps bt from itself becoming usable.

logically, a device whose mic is a bluetooth le audio stream itself maybe all that's needed?

Roxi interactive music-TV channel is finally live in the US
Freshly rescued from financial troubles via a management buyout, music-TV firm Roxi has been reborn as FastStream Interactive Limited – although the Roxi name remains on its flagship interactive channel. That channel has now gone live in the US through one of the new company’s investors, media firm Sinclair. Available in 31 US markets, the channel lets viewers skip through music videos, but also search for artists, songs, moods and genres to get music on-demand, with a catalogue of more than 100m songs present and correct.
