#feedbin
Is there a way to subscribe to read paywalled Substack newsletters using an RSS reader? I use NetNewsWire and Feedbin. I know that I can have newsletters sent to Feedbin, but I don't want to change my entire Substack account's email address to the Feedbin address.

This dummy got himself trapped in a feedbin this morning

RSS is, and I say this without hyperbole, an incredibly useful tool for psychological independence in the current environment. Newsblur, as Vajra suggests, is good, I use Feedbin, there are others. Most remarkably easy to set up.
Speaking of the well-deserved death of social media, I've started using Newsblur as my new RSS reader (had to clean up a depressingly large number of dead links, including to sites that still publish but no longer have RSS feeds) and that does still in fact provide a source of good internet

When Google Reader died, I switched to Feedbin (feedbin.com - could not recommend more enthusiastically) and the Reeder app on iOS and Mac, and the overwhelming majority of my news and content diet remains RSS-based.

I’m so glad to see someone crack the paid-RSS issue.
Subscriber RSS feeds for news sites should be a thing, but they haven’t been.

@404media.co is working on it, and their work should benefit other Ghost sites. Such a cool solution. (A shoutout to FeedPress which has long made me stop missing FeedBurner.)

404 Media Now Has a Full Text RSS Feed
We paid for the development of full text RSS feeds for Ghost-based publishers. Now we can offer them to our paid subscribers, and other Ghost sites can use the service too.

I use Feedbin and it's great, if what you want is essentially Google Reader but modern

I just downloaded the Feedbin macOS app. I usually use Feedbin only to manage RSS subscriptions and use the Reader macOS app for reading.

I noticed that Feedbin shows a list of *Updated* articles. This is such a nice feature. Two of my blog posts were in there (both updated after publishing). Nice!

If you love RSS - I've just updated my .xml file of all the feeds I subscribe to (using feedbin)

Create a filter in your email to forward specific substack senders to the Feedbin address?

I’ve been a paying Feedbin user for the last 10 years now.

Switched to Feedbin but imported my existing Feedly and NetNewsWire subs. Feedbin then dutifully downloaded what it could find from every source and, well… * lip wobble *

I'm a bigtime Feedbin enjoyer. Using the generated email address to make all those newsletters appear to me like any old RSS feed is fantastic. They *should* just *be* RSS feeds natively, but Feedbin at least lets me pretend I live in that world.

I just added two ways to create bookmark notes in @recollect from @feedbin

1. ⭐️ Starring articles (via API)
2. Sharing menu (via special URL)

The options are available in the Bookmarks section of Settings. The preferred and recommended method is connecting […]

How easy was it to prompt Instapaper support into existence?

I want Feedbin support.

Feedbin as the backend. Netnewswire as the client (on a computer). Feedbin app on the phone.

It is good. Want my opml?

Neat little detail in Feedbin: when you add a new feed it shows you the publication frequency using a sparkline.

(yes, I should post more)

Yes. Side-note, I’ve paid for feedbin.com since the Google Reader shutdown in 2013 and am still perfectly satisfied for anyone who wants a web-based RSS sync service that can also work with other RSS apps like Reeder and NetNewsWire.

Never stopped. Feedbin forever.
Does anyone still use RSS readers?

Given the utterly appalling state of the internet (social media and newsletter service options in particular) for creatives who do not have money, who do not get any meaningful financial ROI on newsletter services to justify fees....

The Old Reader was what I replaced GR with, although I'm now at Feedbin these days.

RSS for everything!
