In Sweden we celebrate Fat Tuesday, in mid February, by eating ”semla” (some call it fettisdagsbulle). The bakeries sells millions of them. Very tasty! ….and we eat them other days too…😁

Oh I was actually wondering whether Finnish Swedes use semla or uh... fettisdagsbulle?
Laskiaisbulle???
And yeah, I hope I get another chance to tell them before I move away or they'll never know their first latte was a success

February starts with lots of delicious things to eat for afternoon tea. Semla / fettisdagsbulle is a classic Nordic thing to eat befor lent (this is a Faroese version from Friðas in Klaksvik) and February 3rd was the day of the Carrot Cake (this was served at Emanuelsson's Hotel in Tidaholm, Sweden)

Today is the day to consume a Swedish Semla/Hetvägg/fettisdagsbulle, but I cheated and got one from the bakery.

Aha.

A semla (or a fettisdagsbulle): a Swedish Shrove Tuesday bun. Picked up from the Swedish American Museum.
Never had one of these before, and it tastes like a fluffy cardamom bread that is filled with some kind of nut paste and topped with a heavy whipped cream. This is good.
