Nice! Here in FFXCO, they haven’t opened all the early voting locations yet Including in/near the beltway. So expect this to jump way up in 2 weeks.

There is a lot to love about Fairfax county VA but its refusal to accept that free roaming cats that can’t be placed in a forever home should be humanely PTS, not released to the elements, is not among the things. Do better, FfxCo.

DC, NYC, Charlottesville, RVA, Baltimore, FfxCo VA, Arlington VA, ALX VA, Philly, SF, LA, Seattle, Oakland, Portland OR, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, many many more!

Hop on the silver line and come out to FfxCo!!! Reston has greenery!

FfxCo, ALX, MoCo, and Arlington will happily welcome DC residents to seek refuge with us!
Tourism in DC is going to be badly hit, unfortunately

Hard to imagine many people from the rest of the Northeast visiting DC at this time - why risk it?
This could end up very badly given what we know of Rules on Use of Force (RUF) for Guard in DC. And very different training regimens compared to local police.

Wall Street Journal reporting:

"National Guard troops deployed to Washington, D.C. are preparing to carry weapons in the coming days."

Manifesting: Abigail Spanberger wins Virginia in a LANDSLIDE with a D supermajority house of delegates. We do a special session to redraw the Va map, while the metro proximate parts of ALX, FfxCo, and Arlington Upzone themselves to hell and back. ALL 11 districts run through one of those three.

The residents of FfxCo just plain LIKE Walkinshaw, and also the ballot has a dozen choices on it and turnout is THROUGH THE ROOF. Whoever wins was CHOSEN BY THE PLEBS, not “anointed” or whatever TF.
“'This is exactly what’s wrong with the Democratic Party right now, the idea that a congressional seat is something that can be bequeathed,' said state Del. Irene Shin, one of the lesser-known candidates running for the seat."
Virginia congressman’s posthumous endorsement adds a new twist to Democratic age struggles
A party whose elder statesmen often struggle to give way to new blood now features a special election with a unique legacy appeal.

wtf ffxco went for Stoney?????
Per @vpapupdates, with 1444/2533 (57%) of precincts reporting, it’s Stoney 27.4%- Hashmi 26.4%-Rouse 24.8% for LG; with 1443/2533 precincts reporting, it’s Jones 50.1%-Taylor 49.9% for AG. bluevirginia.us/2025/06/virg...

Tel that to Supervisor Pat Herrity of Springfield District, FfxCo 😑
Donald Trump's attack on the federal workforce is an attack on Virginia's economy. We need to prepare for the potential consequences.

Call your House Rep and Senators and let them know that you SUPPORT congestion pricing and that YOUR home metro area should also implement it. (I’m in FFXCO VA FWIW)
The level of bad faith from New Jersey regarding congestion pricing is stunning.

The pollution change in New Jersey from congestion pricing will be negligible.

Meanwhile, Murphy and Gottheimer support a highway widening in Jersey City that will make pollution way worse!

Yeah I called my Virginia house rep and senators r say as much and said that if nyc can’t take the lead then let FfxCo do it instead.
I can not overstate my contempt for the state of New Jersey for suing New York over congestion pricing.
Negotiations between New York and New Jersey over the future of congestion pricing have stalled, possibly setting the stage for another last-minute suspension of the tolling plan that is scheduled to begin next month. nyti.ms/3P2dSZt

After Hochul reneged on CP earlier this year I advocated for FfxCo (VA suburbs of DC) to take the lead on CP, for those small segments of road that go parallel to the metro.
just drove through the Lincoln tunnel for the first time and… what the hell is wrong with New Jersey???

stuck in standstill traffic for almost an hour… New Jersey should be BEGGING for congestion pricing to fix this

I was living in Fairfax County, Virginia, when another ffxco resident, Jamal Khashoggi, was summarily executed by the man who now owns SNK.

Thank you for doing this.

I’m new to the Flock issue. Is there a remedy FFXCO residents can push for our county’s part in this?
Law enforcement agencies across the U.S. accessed Bridgewater,VA’s surveillance data 6.9MILLION times. “I’m concerned with the degree to which this kind of data could be used to suppress dissent, to suppress freedom of opinion,” said a resident. vcij.org/stories/stat... @whropublicmedia.bsky.social

Reminder that a bunch of library systems in the DC area have reciprocity agreements—I have cards for DC, ARL, and FFXCO.

This can be really handy for finding materials or reducing wait times—Libby checks the holdings at all systems you’re in and puts you in the shortest queue for the book you want!
September 8, 2024 at 12:18 AM
Will add for DMV folks, several of our local library systems allow residents of neighboring jurisdictions to sign up—I have cards for DC, ARL, and FFXCO. It’s great—often get to skip a line if there’s a long wait for a book one of the other systems has more copies of
Library funding is almost always justified through patron numbers. The more people a library serves, the more funding it gets. So even if you don't regularly use a public library, get a library card. It costs you nothing and helps everyone in your community.
today is my NINETEEN YEAR anniversary working at my local library

In honor of that, I ask you to get a card to your local public library today!

If you ALREADY have a card to your local public library, check out their digital resources! Their summer programs!

And yeah, they have books too.

This is a great spot to visit (we've brought our kids there many years). (As an Alexandrian, I'd say it's in Mount Vernon FFXCo and not the city; but that's on Fox5.) (Picture is from years ago and my eldest is pretending to be scared.) www.fox5dc.com/video/1540276 www.facebook.com/hauntingofya...

Le sigh. Add this to a list of things FFXCO would never consider.
May 26, 2026 at 5:27 PM
Fairfax Co has 2x the pop as DC. And the FfxCo library consistently has way fewer ebook copies of popular books than DC library. I lost my Alexandria card, but they are hopeless.

But I bet Arlington has the goods. Anyone wanna get me an Arlington library card?

@andyrides.bsky.social do you know how to weigh in on this FFXCo casino situation? I need to call someone, but not sure who.

Talk of #PublicArt for engraved glass on first 8 transit/bus stops and the turbine blade "gateway" from FfxCo. Um... ok.
