There’s a definition of the term “crackship” under the post by ficwip I was quoting:

ficwip.bsky.social #ficwip @ficwip.bsky.social · 10d
if the term is new for you, a crack ship might seem absurd/ridiculous at a glance. it can involve characters who have never met, even characters from totally different media! personally I'm really fond of Grinch/Tony the Tiger (thanks tumblr)

The shadows have teeth tonight.

It's the middle of the night (the witching hour, Dad calls it), the time when little boys are supposed to be asleep, but Dean's awake now because Sammy's been talking in his sleep again. Talking to the shadows.

And the shadows have been talking back.

screenshot from scrivener: text reads: “Are you certain about this one?” “Mn, he is the one.” “I know he looks just like him…” “Ge,” “I know, I just worry about you. What if—“ “It doesn’t matter.” “You will do to him as father?” “He was wrong about a lot of things, but that does not mean he was not right about some things.” There was a sigh, “I will have the cottage prepared.” “Mn.” “Good hunting didi.”

here, have something soft. #wangxian #ficwip #wordgamewednesday
Wei Ying’s long hair is a mess, freed from the plaits and ribbons of his wedding garb and puffing out around his head in a tangle. His lips are temptingly swollen, his throat and chest marked with bruises left by Wangji’s mouth. Sunlight paints his naked chest in warm gold, rising and falling in a slow rhythm, the crimson blankets fallen around his waist.

Against the expanse of nightfall, Soji’s silhouette makes him look smaller than Toshizo remembers of him, a reminder that for all his brilliance, he still is just a child. Toshizo huffs despite himself. By and large, Soji annoys him, but he could never seem to remember why whenever he sees him like this—like he’s always so alone, perhaps even a little out of place. That maybe, just maybe he’s a little too talented, too sharp for his own good…

This is one-hundred percent self indulgent dark Wei Ying, and I hope to someday finish it. Lol

(For anyone interested, the immediate next line is, "This better not count as a parole violation.")

#mdzs #WeiWuxian #ficwip
Wei Ying sat up and looked around. This was definitely not his room. He looked down at himself, but there was nothing unexpected there. His sun-browned skin was still stamped with his talisman tattoos, his black boxer briefs still keeping the boys nice and snug. He could still feel the heavy and comforting weight of his hair falling down his back, could see the ends pooling around his hips. He was still one-hundred percent Wei Ying. But he was one-hundred percent not where he was supposed to be.

“No you’re not,” Castiel breathes, a shudder going through him. “You’re tormenting me.” He glares at Dean when the barbarian has the audacity to chuckle at his predicament. “I’m falling apart at the seams with raw need and you’re laughing?” The shift in the other man is immediate and so damn intense Castiel’s throat clicks. “You think you’re the only one suffering?” Dean growls, leaning in with both hands on the wall, boxing Castiel in. “

A snippet from my Merlwyb (/Eynzahr) fic I've been working on... #ficwip #wip
A screenshot of a text snippet from a story. It reads: ‘Merl,’ her father hollered, ‘climb up there an’ double-check the Haar’s bearin’ while ye’re at it!’ ‘Aye aye, Cap’n!’ Before the words left her mouth, she was already climbing up the mizzen mast. It swung like their chirurgeon did after one drink too many, before surgery, but it was nothing to her. Though slippery, the rigging was still trustworthy. The barrelman’s scraggly black beard came into view as she ascended. With one hand he held up his spyglass while clinging to the nest with the other. She clambered onto the trickling platform and slapped the man’s sopping shoulder while hugging the mast. ‘Avast, ye fool!’ ‘Och—’ He spun around in surprise. ‘Ye dun’ gave me a fright, Merl, bloody Hells!’ ‘I was tryin’ to get yer attention. The Cap’n’s been hollerin’.’ ‘Sink me! The storm’s loud.’ ‘No, it’s yer ears are goin’ lame! Now give us the bearin’ already!’
