I've done fireworks set up. A good 10-minute show is about 3,000.
Even assuming they want to "ring DC with a glorious display that's absurd".
Not least because that's a LOT of firecontrol to manage, and a mistake could/would be catastrophic.

Fireworks are always set off by the pool. The fencing happens every year. What is different is that last year was less than 8,000 fireworks and this year is supposed to be 851,000.

Not pretty but if you have enough thrust and enough propellant, past around a 1.5:1 thrust/weight ratio drag actually helps make you more controllable if you can select the plane of drag.

Not pretty but if you have enough thrust and enough propellant, past around a 1.5:1 thrust/weight ratio drag actually helps make you more controllable if you can select the plane of drag.

tangentially, I do wonder how the FCS in Armored Core works in a broad sense since it's not exactly clear beyond being a vauge "lockon" system, and I have an odd feeling the AC6 one is more or less just a reskin of the targeting system in the Soulslike games (press button to focus your attacks on a bad guy)

Creates a list of OBJECTS whose POSITIONS are indicated in the RADAR DISPLAY. This is typically limited by a line of sight check, and a spherical range (eg, if the distance is > RANGE)
PREDICTOR:
Takes OBJECT POSITIONS , and by analysing how they change through time, projects OBJECT VELOCITY . These are TRACKED OBJECTS from within a cone of possible targets along the forward direction of the AC's CORE or HEAD part.
Selector:
Orders the list of TRACKABLE OBJECTS from MOST to LEAST of something -- typically range, or the middlemost of the CAMERA
LEAD:
By Dividing the TARGET DISTANCE from the AC's position by the ROUND VELOCITY to find the SECONDS OF SECONDS (by solving the inequity of meters to meters to find the total number of seconds)
The NUMBER OF SECONDSis multiplied by the NORMALIZED VELOCITY of the TRACKED OBJECT (a vector who's total length is 1, to find only its direction component). This difference of position is then added to the position of the ``TARGET OBJECT"
SLEW
The AC's arms are instructed to aim at this point ahead of the target. If a round is fired and the target's velocity doesn't changed, the leaded round will strike the target.

Key differences:
Older AC games treat 'redlock' as the lead calculation.
AC6 has no 'white lock' (non-lead calculation).
As a result, AC6's locktimes are almost identical for both moving and stationary objects unless you're attacking in dumbfire mode.
The added advantage to players in AC6 is you can lock onto objects VERY quickly up close, because lockon is dictated by TIME not ROTATION DISTANCE, which makes all lockons feel identical.
The added disadvantage to the game design is getting up close doesn't present you with much of a defensive advantage, because you're not forcing the robot's arms to turn more, since their SLEW RATE isn't dictated by a traversal rate, but a time it takes for the rotation to match, where the rotation rate is not a factor.
AC6 has no maximum arm rotation speed, and creates the illusion of it via linear interpolation.
This means targets far away track very poorly, and targets up close track very well.
This forces players to get up close and personal, which is what AC6's game design is all about.
Hope this helps.
Personally I think linear interpolation based aiming does have a place, specifically in something like a head vulcan or a defensive weapon, or a missile lock. It could be good for ultra heavy weapons, but it needs a maximum rotation rate otherwise it'd become cartoonishly overpowered very easily.

My Son-in-Law was a Firecontrol Technician for the CIWS Close In Weapons Systems, "R2D2" Radar Controlled, 20 MM Gatling Gun.

Completed my first combat weasel mission, which is an insane sentence to write but nevertheless true. Did real well, annoyed the SA-8 SAMs until my wingman could hit them with radar tracking missiles. They never got a shot off. Hit two firecontrol radars for AA and protected my strike teams nicely

Maneuverability is its primary defense, to defeat firecontrol and lock predictions. This thing is doing 25 to 50 Gs sometimes, constantly changing its momentum and direction.
