For the anesthesia folks out there, this is why I prefer the Drager to the GE machines. People tell me all the time about the one click to turn up the flow but I will manually turn that knob every time like it’s a flowmeter. I hate the touch screen and I hate taking my eyes off the patient.

There are recordkeeping requirements and audit trails, too. A positive displacement pump to ensure nothing "slips", a mass flowmeter to check for proper flow, mandated accuracy for the flow meter and reference thermometer, and more that I've forgotten.

Okay, our hydraulic system holds water except for flowmeter orings, we will replace those, test system for minor leaks, when satisfied, we will then put on boiler side and element. 😊😁

Meine schon 10 Jahre alten Dinger mag ich nicht mehr drehen. Da habe ich Angst was zu zerbrechen.
Also Wasser absperren und die Flowmeter austauschen anstatt nur reinigen.
Irgendeine Empfehlung?

Pseudo-air leak results from a ventilator malfunction causing under-measurement of gas flow returning from the patient
sometimes a loose connection on a flowmeter can be tightened up to fix this
we swapped out the ventilator --> leak disappeared
60% leak should usually be easily audible

FLOWMETER IS BACK UP TO ~95% AS OF RIGHT NOW!!! I'm still getting breathless/dizzy/somewhat tachycardic here and there (clearly a MECFS/POTS relapse), and I'm still coughing up mucus so I'm still not 100% by a long shot, but Y'ALL, my lung capacity is FUNCTIONALLY NORMAL AGAIN 🥹😭
Thanks, I hope so too. I've never been this violently sick in my life, even during the flus that gave me the MECFS. I'm most worried about my lungs, bc my flowmeter has me down 25% in lung capacity & I can't afford the inhaler they prescribed for it bc my Medicaid is still interrupted. I'm stressed.

Yesterday at work there was an old wafer grinder in the warehouse, probably meant for the scrapyard. I stood before it for a minute, fiddling with the flowmeter, looking at the wafer platen, hitting the EMO over and over. Desperate to interact with a real thing and feel our physical substratum
