In 2015 I took a bike framebuilding course at UBI in Portland, OR. It was a challenging experience and during the finishing stage, I slipped while drilling a hole for a water bottle boss. It wound up about 1.5mm off-center. I was frustrated but the teacher told me to be okay with being a beginner.
Please don't let the fear of not doing something well stop you from trying it for the first time. Write a messy story. Paint a crappy flower. Whittle the worst wooden bear of all time.
