There are so many that just come SO close, but 'Chocolate Cake' immediately disqualifies Crowded House, 'Blowing Bubbles' disqualifies The Lightning Seeds, and I like to try and forget the entire 'Frestonia' album exists for Aztec Camera.

#MusicChallenge 🎶
Day 21 - a song with a tension and release feel.
“Rainy Season” from Aztec Camera’s Frestonia LP starts and finishes with a gentle piano line. In between the music slowly ratchets up to match the storm implied by the song’s title.

It's days like this, when there's a stack of alt text to type, that I wish I'd just stuck to #NowPlaying️ posts rather than a weekly #WhatIPlayedHashtag.

No! I lived in very close proximity to the Rough Trade shop in Kensington Park Road, London (seconds away from my flat) so I was obviously going to be a magnet for a guy to dump his suitcase who was over from Paris and a first signing 😏 I'd already met him via French friends in Frestonia before that

Year 2, day 2. Aztec Camera: Frestonia
Very classy guitar based adult pop from the 80s. The follow up to albums that I listened to lots. A Neil Finn timbre to his voice. Comfortable and assured.

Come to think of it, that’s also the location of the squats that declared independence as Frestonia.

and another dimension to all of this is how things like H&N integrated into Frestonia - the area around Ladbroke Grove/Latimer Road, in West London, which experimented with calling themselves a free republic (and applied to the United Nations, to underline their status!!) www.frestonia.org

Aztec Camera LPs on vinyl? Completed it mate.* All the others came from @brighterdayvinyl.bsky.social - thanks Joel! - but this one came via eBay saved search. Dreamland came out in 1993 so it's rare as rocking horse doo-doo in this format.
