Also another ghoulish fact I know about gender & suicide is that women tend to fret over "leaving a mess" behind when they attempt & shooting yourself tends to make a mess, so they choose methods they associate with going quietly with little clean up.

While I definitely feel like i shaved a few years off my appearance when I shaved the beard off last night, I am reminded how much damn work clean-shaven is for a guy like me. I can’t imagine having to do this every day. If you prefer the beard, don’t fret, it will grow back real quick!

Changing guitar strings. I have a routine, a toolkit with everything I need, I can do it on/in bed with lying down breaks and a podcast on. The whole guitar gets a clean and check, and if needed a fret polish, fingerboard oil, truss-rod tweak, intonation check, etc etc.

What is a chore that you choose to find joy in? I've been trying to do that with grocery shopping. It really is a wonder that I can go to one colorful place and get everything from butternut squash and kale to chocolate to tea to pumpkin beer to cat food

1st - remove the strings and put fret oil (or lemon oil) on the wood nice and heavy. Get some guitar wax (Martin has nice one) and clean.
2nd - get humidifier packs and put them in the case (NOT on the guitar and its wood) and leave it for several weeks at least.
3rd - take it in for a setup.
