Homelab peeps, how do you version control or backup your /etc/fstab file?
I do a mounted drive per service, so it is a rather extensive fstab file, & I would hate to lose it :s

I successfully stabbed the fstab on the Steam Machine last night and got it to auto-connect to the big-ass shared folder of old games on my network, so now I can emulate without having to copy a bunch of files over to yet another place. Handy!

put Ubuntu server on it, ssh'd in from another machine, installed docker and set up an fstab so it mounts all of the media drives on boot.... My powers are returning...
I've been running applications in docker containers on my NAS and it is chugging. I have a little old desktop PC I might move my applications onto - I have unraid on my NAS, is there any reason to install unraid on the desktop as well or should I just install any flavor of Linux I want on there?

or if you absolutely refuse to do that (perhaps opening up someone's entire pc and installing a malicious SATA drive is a more common attack vector than i think), you HAVE to expose a better way for the user to do it than fstab or disks. it should be a right click context option in the file browser
