I'm not sure what is getting me more, the "Unites States" or the AI bros who are absolutely functionally illiterate and sign their initials like 5 year olds learning the alphabet. Did they know Alphabet meant more than some Googleslop stock?

sincerely trying to understand why you keep pointing this out. It doesnt really matter if a thing is or isnt "true" random if the ability for the user to control the input state is functionally negligible and the cycle size is huge (like with chatbots)

we're being forced to worry and care about a deluge of things we're functionally powerless to act upon, and that's incredibly psychologically harmful. but because there's no way out without global solidarity it's not like we can just stick our heads in the sand

They give you just enough time to do something functionally equivalent to regex string matching. When the dropdown has books in it, they're happy and call it done.

I don't think getting those opt-outs from the EU is an insurmountable task given a) the lack of land borders and CTA with Ireland, an EU member; and b) you can functionally opt out of the Euro indefinitely by simply never letting yourself meet the criteria to join.

But I think it is fair to say the founding fathers were (collectively and practically) blind to the evils of slavery. The ones who were not, were functionally impotent in their joint cause.

So to get back to the OP: Yeah, actually, it's CRUCIAL that LLMs are fundamentally unable to be creative. They have no problems to solve, no new understandings to reach.

I think it's not a great argument against AI eating a lot of the arts to say that AI can't be creative/original. Setting aside the question of whether they can... does *most* art strike you as extremely original? The vast majority of people, including great artists most of the time are mid.
