There’s retrofit kits for classic cars where its not about saving $$ but having your amazing unique car futureproofed.

Just saw one for the 1970s VW beetle and I wish I had kept mine (they were still in production until 2004 in Mexico)

This is why my detective character lives at 210,345 Justin Bieber Road, Neo Glasgow. Futureproofed 😎

the tunnel was already over a billion dollars per km so any deferred expense was worth it, but from what I can see the trains are all still driven manually by lineside signals, so no PSD integration. I believe the stations are futureproofed for them though?

Feels like they futureproofed this engine for a Majora's Mask remake.

it's really cool that we've hit the point where people are starting to make recompilations of a bunch of games as probably the most futureproofed ways to keep the games accessible and it's really sad so many people are vibecoding that shit

With an added compilation of smaller side references that I found useful while doing the comics.

(this design is mildly futureproofed, hence a lack of mechanical arms for her wing projectors)

For @gamespot.com's Cheap Week, I wrote about how "friendslop" games are futureproofed as low-spec, low-price, low-skill, and highly social games at a time when no one can afford anything, but we all still wanna laugh with our buddies.

In An Unaffordable World, The Future Is Friendslop
When we're all stuck on old hardware with little spending money, one genre seems futureproofed, but increasingly crowded.

With the highly-rated Dayann Methalie now onboard, have Sunderland futureproofed the position adequately?

Also a bit more futureproofed, since it can handle higher resolutions and framerates (though it made me force my Switch 2 to 1080p) and uses USB-C. We'll see how things go over this week with it, but first impressions after setting it up have been pretty strong.

Yeah. It was only a few for whom were urgent financial pressures. For most was sold (or missold) as a financial windfall that 'futureproofed' them. Which got eventually, but only in a way that would never have been agreed to as the ECB barefaced lied about it coming at the cost of selling the summer

I think I may have accidentally futureproofed my OCs.

The reason why they age really slowly is because they're weird tech bros.

They do fad diets and weird therapies like parabiosis, plasma transfusion, gene therapies, and telomeric elongation.

still incredibly fucking funny that they accidentally futureproofed it

i'm not sure where capcom stands on Switch 2 updates (a lot of their Switch 1 output was accidentally futureproofed with unlocked framerates, so there's not necessarily a need for their stuff to be updated) but I need a Rise Switch 2 update like I need air bro

genuinely incredibly funny

they essentially futureproofed HWDE by complete accident

There is futureproofed access here to Shijiazhuang Metro Line 5. Once that opens a few years from now, all of the city’s main rail hubs — Main, North, and East — will be connected by Metro. #Chunyun

…Xuchang East’s odd station configuration!
The station has futureproofed Platforms 1 and 2… it was previously intended for a HSR route to SW China (built in the meantime, but on a newer, faster routing). The Metro didn’t get built there. So now it’s for another line (to Xinyang)…

Zhuangzhai is a delightfully compact station where everything is within close reach. The ticket office and exits are in the same hall as the Departures gates. Separate space seems to be futureproofed — as a “just in case” measure. Good forward-thinking.

Halbe Sache, eher niche so halbe Sache: Xiongan and the stubs for a futureproofed railway line…
November 29, 2024 at 7:53 AM
Dead-End Xiongan (雄安)?… Actually, far from it. The southern end of Xiongan station with lots futureproofed. HSR to Hong Kong, another line to Kunming for Laos and Thailand, a third futureproofed for Tianjin, and Express Metro to Beijing — which could potentially be a 24 hour service…

Beijing West is known to many as the Euston station of the Chinese capital — and the railways know it. Which is why they try to make the station better. At least they futureproofed the Subway station pretty well: two lines + cross-platform interchange. #BeijingSubway55 returns here with Station 3.

This bit of the Line 10 station was futureproofed for Line 6. So when the latter was built, it just used the bit that was readied for it. It works as both lines use Type B trains. A similar arrangement exists at Tuanjiehu with Line 3 but won’t work as the 3 uses wider-body trains. #BeijingSubway55

#BeijingSubway55 @ Hujialou 呼家楼 station — where Line 6 meets Line 10.
The Line 6 part is newer (opened late 2012). The 10 is in an earlier (summer 2008) part of the station.
Parts of the Line 10 part were futureproofed for Line 6… smart design, actually…
