Space Battleship Yamato fans: the Yamato represents the Japanese spirit, Desslar and the Gamilas draw from various European military and political figures, the planet bombs are obvious atomic bomb parallels, and the Gamilas drill missile is, of course, a big penis

'Space Battleship Yamato' is a particularly interesting comparison actually. It came out in 1974 and was also a limited animation, but DAMN it has so much more ambition and life than the stilted TAS ever did!
Here's a playlist on YouTube if you haven't seen it.

Melda poses against the stark white background, confused but obliging, as she tries to ignore a tingling from her chest.
You struggle against the blue breast, thrown about with each movement as you unknowingly arouse the Gamilas, her rigid nipple pinning you to her bikini.

Methinks Gamilas and the UN Cosmo Navy are going to need their own shelves soon.

The crew of the Gamilas cruiser had found themselves wading in an ocean of warm, brown liquid. Kaoru took a long sips of her coffee, not noticing the warship dragged past her lips and into her maw by the torrent.
A few days later, she did note that her uniform was a bit tighter on her rear.

"Earth has been ravaged by attacks from Gamilas so Space Battleship Yamato and the Crossbone Vanguard are headed to Iscandar to save it, but along the way they got blasted to an alternate timeline where none of that happened and then they went to ANOTHER timeline that's like their past but not."

Favorite Star Wars (wrong answers only)
Space Battleship Yamato is one of my other favorite SciFis. This one is the movie adaptation of the anime. Space Battleship Yamato is humanity's last ship, and last hope for survival in the face of oppression and complete annihilation from the Gamilas Empire.

I'm still disappointed with the live action treatment of the Gamilas in that movie. Thankfully Space Battleship Tamato 2199 animated series build upon the original 1974 and even added way better characterization of Gamilas.
