Scored this in a free box last summer and wasn’t even sure it was alive. Then a few weeks ago, buds. And today the first flower!

This is major in part because I’m TERRIBLE at keeping houseplants alive. Also, flowers!

You know you want to grow #figs — and here’s a great way to get started.

Did a big backyard pruning today and have loads of cuttings if anyone wants some. Variety is desert king, I think. Grows prolifically here in NE #Portland.

A little beauty to break up all the doom scrolling. Yes, flowers are still hanging on here in Portland.

Using the colors of my garden to move through grief. This intuitive collage was inspired by flowers from my yard. The orange lily was my dad’s favorite! Art and gardening are helping me work through the loss of my dad. 🧡🎨

I’d almost given up on my fig. It’s been through a lot of pruning, though it’s so huge again you can hardly tell. It historically ripens fruit in August, & tries again unsuccessfully in the fall. I checked yesterday just to be sure. And I was rewarded.

Muddled mint lemon water — yum!

The mercury is dropping to more habitable ranges, but I am breaking out my hoarded frozen Meyer lemon purée just cause it makes me happy.
