Gnome, from the Latin 'gēnomos' meaning 'earth dweller'. In folklore they live underground, guarding vast treasure. Although, in Druidry, we know them to be elementals/ nature spirits

In Druidry, Owl is one of the three Elders of the World, the others are Eagle and Blackbird

An Owl appearing in your dream represents transformation, hidden wisdom and spiritual evolution

The latest confected transphobia in The Times…😣

It’s written by Sanchez Manning - the OG trans-hostile “churnalist” 🙄

She lost her job at the Daily Mail and now pitches any piece of transphobic tat she can scrape together to the editors of the transphobic-for-profit UK media! 😖

22. Weasel : in lore are associated with witches and are omens of death; it's bad luck if a weasel crosses your path. In Druidry the weasel is a good omen (as most animals are)

Today’s recommendation from my library is “The Book of Druidry” by Kristoffer Hughes, Head of the Anglesey Druid Order. He does not seem to be here on Bluesky yet but is very active on Facebook.

Druid Animal Lore

4. Boar : whilst many folk tales revolve around the animal being hunted, in Druidry, the sow (female) symbolises generosity and nourishment of the Earth

The great tree thrives on the leaves that it casts to the ground

Druidry today does not pretend to present a replica of the past, rather it is producing a new season's growth

It's #InternationalLynxDay although sadly extinct in the UK, lynx is an animal of magic and mystery. In Druidry it's the 'keeper of secrets' symbolising the power of clairvoyance

In Cumbrian dialect, 'atter' is spider, 'atter-cob' is spider's web

In Druidry, the spider is a teacher of language - every character of the Ogham alphabet can be found in the web of a spider

The Cailleach is the 'divine ancestor', associated with the creation of the landscape and with the weather, especially storms and winter. In Druidry, the barn owl is Cailleach-oidhche gheal, the white old woman of the night.
