Are we confident that this reflects genuine state ownership? It wouldn’t be surprising if he were privately retaining some interests.

As I understand it, legal gun ownership requires a licencee to demonstrate a "genuine reason" for such ownership. But a 50'ish suburban man can have 6?!!
The 50-year-old Bondi beach terror suspect who died was a licensed firearms holder, and had six firearms, NSW police say. Police have the six firearms from the scene yesterday. His 24yo son is in police custody in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

1. LOWER THE BAR: most students don't think they write well, so they are easily tempted to "improve" their writing by asking AI for alternatives. Giving them extra credit for imperfect but genuine writing while teaching them to take ownership of their words and ideas has helped.

If I were Ed Sheeran's PR manager, I'd advise him to issue a genuine apology with full ownership & do a tribute concert with all proceeds going to Palestine

There’s a reason AA meetings start with “I’m Joe and I’m an alcoholic.” And it’s because part of self-improvement, genuine grappling with big mental and psychological problems, is ownership. Someone who is trying to hide bad stuff in their past is someone who hasn’t fully grappled with it.

Decades of research finds that businesses with profit-sharing and worker ownership tend to perform better.

Worker ownership can empower working people with a say in their workplaces. It also creates a more equitable distribution of wealth, something that genuine democracy requires.
Evidence: what the US research shows about worker ownership
AbstractSharing the fruits of labour with workers has led to initiatives of both profit-sharing and worker ownership. Several decades of research shows tha

Worker ownership is fostering inclusive prosperity.

Companies (like ESOPs) where workers own shares paid out over $150 billion to millions of workers in 2022.

More worker ownership means more equality in wealth and power, which is mandatory for genuine democracy.
Employee Ownership by the Numbers
There are over 6,300 companies with an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) in the US. Collectively these plans hold over $1.8 trillion in assets.

An apology without

- ownership of their actions and impacts,
- A genuine will or willingness to change,
- Persistent Progress toward change and/or
- changed behavior

Is manipulation!

Genuine question: who paid to have this mocked this up and hosted on a website? Current ownership? New ownership?

Australia's political duopoly has become a spineless entity, prioritizing lobbyists and foreign interests over the nation's well-being. It's time for a genuine public inquiry into media ownership, as the current landscape fails to serve our society. Let's demand accountability! 🇦🇺 AusPolitics

My report on fixing the water system is out with @cmmonwealth.bsky.social:

💦transfer the leakiest, polluting companies to public hands for £0

🌊audit the rest to gauge repair costs, and public ownership is likely to cost £12bn, saving up to £1.4bn in 3 years

genuine question, how did this happen to begin with? the KSA's ownership of SNK is not an unknown quantity, since the buyout happened four years ago and another SNK game, fatal fury: city of the wolves, shows that the saudis do have influence over SNK

In England, nearly all rivers and beaches are polluted, taps run dry and trillions of litres of water are leaked each year.
Yet, we pay some of the highest water bills in Europe.

Our new report shows how this system is fixable through public ownership. 🧵

Security experts and European officials say Greenland faces no immediate military threat — raising a pointed question: are Trump's warnings about Greenland genuine security concerns, or a pretext for a more unilateral U.S. push in the Arctic?
Does Russia or China actually threaten Greenland? Experts say Trump's warnings don't match reality
President Donald Trump has been fixated on controlling Greenland, suggesting that U.S. ownership of the island is crucial in blocking Russian and Chinese expansion. "If we don't go in, Russia's going...

Britain needed to see a genuine new vision of economic prosperity from the Chancellor, not continuity Reeves.

With families across the country struggling with cost-of-living, the UK simply can't afford any more inaction on public ownership of water, wealth inequality, or the climate crisis.

Not to mention the fact that such existing agreements expand protection of intellectual property, solidifying monopolistic ownership and betraying the whole notion of "equal partners" in trade. An open-source alternative would be much closer to genuine reciprocity
Yeah, most "trade" currently isn't trade at all. It's an internal shuffling of finished and unfinished products within corporate networks that are vertically integrated in functional terms, even if the manufacturers are nominally independent. Citing Ricardo on that shit is dishonest as fuck.
I think given industries collectively owned by the workers there's nothing inherently wrong with free trade. Capitalism has warped the concept to where "trade" isn't the exchange it implies.

Socialism is:
-Workers directly control production
-Democratic control of the economy
-No privileged ruling class

By thay definition there has never been a real socialist society. Soviet Union, China, Cuba had state ownership but not genuine worker control.
