Comic with Nergal and Geshtu in a dark underground cavern. There is a lake of blood around the island of rock that they are on. Some torches are lit, giving the cavern an ominous glow. Panel 1: Nergal is in the background popping out of a crack in the ground, one hand behind his back. He is hollering “OHHHH GESHTUUUU!” In the foreground, Geshtu is holding a pot of blood. He looks irritated. Panel 2: Geshtu looks over his shoulder and glowers. Panel 3: An unimpressed closeup of his face. “Yes Nergal? What is it?” He says. Panel 4: Nergal has his arm around Geshtus shoulder all chummy like. Geshtu looks inconvenienced. Nergal: “I got a surprise for you~” Geshtu: “Do you now?” Panel 5: Nergal leans in closer to Geshtu, invading his personal space. Nergal: “Ahw, don’t give me that face! It’s something reeeal neat! Fresh from the surface…” Panel 6: nergal leans in even closer, Geshtu is now standing at an angle. Nergal: “You’ve never seen anything like it. I swear it’s gonna blow your mi-“ Panel 7: close up of Geshtus face, he’s mad. Geshtu: CEASE SPEAKING. AND SIMPLY UNVEIL IT TO ME.” Panel 8: Nergal cups his face with a hand and looks bashful as Geshtus shadow looms over him. Nergal: “Teehee~ Okey-dokey!” Comic with Nergal and Geshtu in a dark underground cavern. There is a lake of blood around the island of rock that they are on. Some torches are lit, giving the cavern an ominous glow. Panel 1: Nergal holds up the chunky instant camera he had behind his back excitedly. It says “click n pic” on it. Nergal: Get a load of THIS! A magical picture box that captures your SOUL!” Panel 2: Nergal shoves the camera in Geshtus face and snaps a photo, flash blinding Geshtu. Geshtu drops his pot of blood and it crashes onto the ground. Panel 3: Gesthu rubs his eyes while Nergal excitedly waits for the camera to dispense the photo. Panel 4: Geshtu, now able to see, looks as Nergal pulls out the little photo from the camera. Geshtu has a look of curiosity and uncertainty on his face. Panel 5: Geshtus eyes dart around as the uneasiness of what Nergal told him starts to grow. He sweats a bit and fidgets with his finger tips. Nergal, not noticing, is waving the photo to speed up it developing. Panel 6: Geshtu leans over Nergal worriedly as Nergal is now admiring the picture he took. Geshtu: “Does…does it really capture your soul…?” Nergal, shrugging and looking unconcerned as he looks at the photo: “Ah’dunno.”

The god trio, Nergal the Adalatherium (misfortune), Gesthu the Cronopio Dentiacutus (blood), and Dumuzi the Kimbetopsalis Simmonsae (rebirth), are stacked on top of each other vertically like a pillar. Nergal flashes a malicious grin as he wrings the severed neck of a small theropod dinosaur, making it ooze blood into the dish that Geshtu is holding beneath him. Geshtu is holding a dish of blood with his head slightly tilted upwards and is dipping the bowl downwards so that the blood inside pours out onto the top of Dumuzis head. Dumuzis eye is widened as she has blood raining down over her and saturating her, her hands are held out as if invoking some kind of dark magic. All three have solid white eyes, and there is lighting coming from below them, giving them a warm downward glow as shadows are cast over and behind them. Above the stack of them is a logo of a bone with crossed spears that reads “FOSSILIZED”

Nergal grins looking forward, biting his tongue with devious malice. Under each one is a poem (written by Nergal himself) They read: Dumuzi: She’s serene, divine, a work of art, Cold stare piercing through your heart. Immersed in death, Bathed in your strife, By her hands you’re given life. Geshtu: His hands guided by Theia’s light, For the moon above is always right. Blessing your blood so you can be Brought back for all eternity. Nergal: You’re a sacrifice for us to use, Livestock for me to abuse. I reap your suffering like a flood My bad luck fills the wells with blood. Fossilized logo above four portraits labeled Icky, Hopps, Screwball, and Kyle. Icky snarls and grimaces while holding a bottle of whisky. Hopps shoots a finger gun while flashing a playful smile. Screwy clutches her face, eyes wide with awe and wonder. Kyle is leaning against the side of the portrait looking utterly exhausted. Under each one is a poem (written by Nergal himself) They read: Icky: A miserable slab of rancid meat, Rotten as roadkill left on the street, Never happy, he’ll bitch and moan, Cus all he wants is to be left alone. Hopps: An entrepreneur kangaroo, Is there nothing he can’t do? Responsibility’s not his best trait, So crippling debt will be his fate. Screwball: Full of love, a swollen heart, She’ll hug you then pull you apart. Loose screws bouncing in her head The things she loves all end up dead. Kyle: 5 part time jobs and can’t make rent, This weary man is all but spent. He gives and gives but never takes, Except a hit for others sake.

Geshtu is sitting on a small stone island in the middle of a lake of blood stirring it with a staff. His back faces the audience. He has a tattoo of unknown lettering running down his spine. A small canoe like boat is docked by the edge of the stone island. In the foreground is a panel with a close up of Geshtu facing the audience, he holds a dish full of blood as one of his hands hovers over it, some of the blood trailing from inside the bowl to the tip of his index finger. His eyes are fully white and smoke trails out of them, he looks to be in some kind of trance.

More on the trio~
#art #ocs #webcomic #fossilized #fossilizedtales
Nergal leaping into the air with his eyes rolling into the back of his head. Big open mouthed maniacal smile on his face. Text reads: Creates and Harvests Suffering by inflicting Bad Luck. Powers: Control over Nature. Object manipulation. Projection of bad luck. Heightened senses/smells doom. Radiates bad luck; affects the constitution and durability of Isles residents. Intensifies “bad” traits in others. Weakness/Strength Of the three, Nergal is the most aggressive and burns the most energy. He is not built for battles, he is built for executions. While he may be a hard-hitter, he can tire out very quickly, making his physical body exceptionally vulnerable. Sometimes his bad luck backfires on him. Geshtu stands holding a pot of blood, his eyes and white and smoking as blood drips down from his right hand. Text reads: Blesses and prepares the Suffering within the Blood. Keeps the Wells treated so the process can flow. Makes the Blood usable. Powers: Maintains and manages Soul-binding and all divine connections. Purifies and cleanses the Blood. Removes the memories of suffering. Can become smoke/fog/ethereal mist. Manipulation of light and shadow. Weakness/Strength Geshtu prefers not to fight, his strength lies in being able to avoid and deescalate. He’s hard to tack down because of his agility and ability to become smoke. But if you catch him off guard or manage to get a hold on him, he is vulnerable. Dumuzi hands in the air being held up by tree roots. She is completely drenched in blood and stares at you with a blank eye. Text reads: Filters the prepared Blood through her. Withholds memories as needed. Recycles the purified Suffering to regenerate lost lives. Powers: Can transfer or remove life through touch when doused in the Blood. Absorbs and holds onto the repressed memories of others. Feels emotions through the Blood. Manipulates root systems throughout the Isles to regrow bodies. Weakness/Strength Dumuzi is a healer more than a fighter, but she has everything she needs to heal herself soaked through her. This makes her difficult to take down. However her body is vulnerable when not coated in the Blood. Otherwise her constant self healing and life draining abilities will protect her. Character front and backs of Geshtu, Dumuzi, and Nergal. Geshtu is blue with red markings on his hands, over his eyes, and on the top of his tail. He has a tattoo of some kind of ancient writing going down his spine. Dumuzi is green with orange hair that reaches the ground. Nergal is rust colored with dark red markings on his hand and feet and rows of dark brown ridges running down his back.

Geshtu! The self made God of Blood. He is a blunt man & takes himself too seriously. He is devoted to the moon & claims to hear her voice. When he’s not busy, he enjoys fishing & eventually develops a fondness for tabletop rpgs. #fossilized #fossilizedtales #chracterrefs #horror #comic #prehistoric
Geshtu prefers not to go out, but sometimes it is needed for the good of the trio. His eyes are very sensitive to light so he wears his shades indoors. He looks very normal and fine. Usually cool and collected, if you make his eyes smoke you know you fucked up Normal attire for the trio

Is there room for one more? I’m Kenz and I do a horror/dark comedy webcomic about me and my friends ocs. My main ocs are Nergal, Dumuzi, and Geshtu; three immortal prehistoric mammals from the Cretaceous who sacrificed their own humanity to become gods. I draw them a ton haha
The god trio, Nergal (misfortune), Gesthu (blood), and Dumuzi (rebirth), are stacked on top of each other vertically like a pillar. Nergal flashes a malicious grin as he wrings the severed neck of a small theropod dinosaur, making it ooze blood into the dish that Geshtu is holding beneath him. All three have solid white eyes, and there is lighting coming from below them, giving them a warm downward glow as shadows are cast over and behind them. Above the stack of them is a logo of a bone with crossed spears that reads “FOSSILIZED” A six panel comic titled “Give Me a Break!!”. Panel one shows Icky, an anthropomorphic squirrel character with a bowler hat and waders on, trudges through a lovely field angrily. Panel two shows Icky spotting a $20 bill lying on the ground. Panel three has icky contemplating about picking up the $20 bill, saying “$20? Could it be? Ah mean… ‘at’s good whisky money…” Panel four has him bending over to pick it up, smugly smiling to himself and saying “Huh huh…well, finduhs keepuhs…huh huh huh~” Panel five is you hear a snap offscreen and then a large crack behind him. He looks shocked. 6th panel shows Nergal, a prehistoric god of bad luck wearing a Dino skull hat, hiding in a bush in the foreground, with his hand in a post snapping position. He has a wide toothy grin on his face and his eyes are completely white. In the background you see that Icky was on the edge of a cliff that has no broken off, causing him to fall off the cliff to his doom. Fossilized logo above three portraits labeled Dumuzi, Geshtu, and Nergal. Dumuzi stares blankly out. Geshtu looks down coldly with his head tilted upwards. Nergal grins looking forward, biting his tongue with devious malice. Happy #portfolio day~
My names Kenz, I’m a cartoonist and writer who’s currently working on a comic series called Fossilized. I also dip my toes in acrylic painting and photography from time to time. I like to make things that are horrible, deplorable, and maybe a little bit adorable
Icky, a large grey anthropomorphic squirrel wearing a jacket with the hood up, holds up a lantern with a bitter grimace on his face. The light from the lantern reflects off the side of his face. Behind him is a thick layer of woods, the trees have no leaves left on them, as heavy snow falls from the sky. Breaking through the trees is the light from a full moon, giving Icky some backlight as well. Asides from the orange/yellow hue of the lamplight, everything is in monochrome. Above the stack of them is a logo of a bone with crossed spears that reads “FOSSILIZED” Icky, a misanthropic large grey anthropomorphic squirrel, holds a shotgun as he’s backed against the wall. Fire light glows against him as wears an expression of intense paranoia on his face. There is text that reads “there’s a caveman in the walls” around him. Mushhush, a large, toothy, multi-armed mammalian worm-like monster that Nergal stretches into, roars angrily into the sky as he is skewered with many crude spears and arrows. A fiery meteor swirls above him.
