There are bunkers all over the Marin Headlands. They have been decorated over the years with graffiti.
The ones in sight of the GGBridge are well done. I think it’s a good venue for graffiti artists. Some may not agree.

Hard to believe they would have chosen the Navy's idea for the proposed color on the
GGBridge...blue& gold stripes? 'For visability'
Cal
would have been happy?
Goofy.

Thanks for the pix.

What level of glow-in-the-dark orange is the GGBridge?
Same shade as the tRump?

Construction on US101 between Novato and Santa Rosa reminds me of stories of repainting the GGBridge, starting at one end, getting to the other, starting again.
It's been going for 25+ years!

My Alt Text disappeared on this post. This is Sausalito, 4 miles North of SFO across the GGBridge. The island closest to us (L) is Angel Island. You can see the SF skyline (R) with the Bay Bridge to its left, followed by Yerba Buena Island & Oakland. Restored Sea Lion; original by Al Sybrian 1957

The Golden Gate — final threshold of the Pacific, supreme entry to the Golden West. A sight to quicken the pulse of any mariner who has braved the Horn. To sail beneath it is to know triumph. To command it... well, that is another matter entirely. #ElSupremo #MaritimeDominion #fujifilm #ggbridge

I'm in Richmond, overlooking the bay. I guess Crockett is in its own microclimate! I can just see the GGBridge, and it has rarely been totally clear this whole spring/summer!

The Golden Gate Bridge District choosing *Memorial Day Weekend* to close the west sidewalk (the bike side) for maintenance and training...is a choice.

This will force all bike and pedestrian traffic onto the 10' east sidewalk between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM Sat/Sun.

The NW and W edges of my hometown San Francisco are NPS (Golden Gate Nat’l Rec. Area) as are some areas south of the City and a lot of what’s N across the Gate. Many adjacent govs and orgs have essential NPS dealings, incl. the GGBridge. This is a train wreck about to happen.

the summers when humpbacks grazed on anchovies right under the GGBridge, so bicycling north once I paused and looked over the rail right down on one, and riding south another saw their columnar spouts all around, or 3/

Still sexy as ever... I followed you on Twitter years ago. Beach pic w/ the GGBridge beyond. Can't wait to return for just fun and not a meeting this time. Hope your doing well. Hugs from 🔥Tennessee🏳️‍🌈

This is a tiny @MarinAirporter bus on a tiny @GGBridge. Pencil shows scale (1/500).

My wife and I were there, too, and our oldest son, in her womb. I was part of an Ironworker contingent accompanying the late Al Zampa, member of the Halfway to Hell club of GGBridge builders who had survived a fall from it thanks to the innovation of nets.

I knew a guy when I lived in SF in the 90s who used to do that on the south pylon of the GGBridge. But he did bring ropes and a harness (at least he told me did)
