The Glasgow Distillery presented their inaugural 10 yo Peated single malt #whisky. 54% ABV. Batch was matured in 3 ex-Bourbon casks, 2 refill and 1 FF. It will be released to their Community Members and select UK retailers.

Dram 3 – PX Golden Beer

Palate – There is the ale after taste that has all the body of a Glasgow Dram with none of the ale bitterness.  Is there also maple syrup ?

There is still a whisp of hay and grapes but can I get a light cumin or interesting “Indian spice” ? Not sure about this one.

Dram 3 – PX Golden Beer

Nose – Beer casks seem to be a “thing” at the moment and this is done brilliantly.  Light hops, icing sugar and cream on the nose welcomes you in.

Dram 1 – Palate

For me the blackcurrant drops away and there are heaps of bananas, honey, oats and brown sugar.  It’s a really welcoming dram that is fruity and sweet in equal measures.

Overall this #GlasgowDistillery has been one of my favourites of the year, so far.  They continue to produce top drawer drams and, for me, the Tokaji just nicks it over the Peated.  A bottle of each, please!
