It genuinely was like greaseproof paper, terrible stuff
I'd never come across single-play toilet paper. Unless you include a type of British toilet paper which no-one today can quite believe ever existed. Used in schools and public buildings, it was like greaseproof paper, scratchy and non-absorbent.

Foodbank idea: kitchen foil and greaseproof paper. Both save on the need to use oil (which is expensive) and reduce the need to wash up.
