One of my all times favourite. I am now reading Greengages and it's equally promising

Made a fruit pie at the weekend with plums & greengages. Bloody lovely. I'm into batch cooking season too. I've defrosted Italian meatballs for tonight. I found a recipe with a sauce full of blended veggies. Love it. There's a reason why we have 2 freezers.

I LOVE greengages 😋
The trees at work didn't produce any fruit this year, not a single one, which we were all rather saddened by 😕

How gorgeous are these #greengages? 😍 Our London project manager Lizzy gathered this impressive haul at a recent community harvest day at St Joseph's College in Barnet. She said she'd never seen so many there! #CommunityOrchards

4:12 AM, the cottage bedroom:

Two of our solar pond pumps stopped working yesterday, so Crowley was off to the garden centre for replacements.

I opted to stay home, deliver greengages and air cardigans on the laundry line.

Sometimes the day is terribly dull to anyone but us!
But I adore it.

6:26 AM, the cottage bedroom:

Yesterday, picked greengages at the empty cottage next door; there is a clutch (group?) of four trees, only two bore fruit this year, so collected several large basketfuls.
Very good exercise!

Shall trundle to Miss Cabot this AM, who will transform them into jam.

Greengages are the best plums. We caught the market just in time today to get fruit and veg for tonight’s meal.

And now…dessert!

We used to be able to get greengages from time to time around here before the prune orchards over the hill went away & the varieties of available plums just withered away.

It's called damson an' pear cordial. Very nice with snowcream pudding and greengages—go on, fill your plate.

Dinner. As advertised a baked potato and Greek yogurt with baked greengages and more granola. I need an intervention. If you see me with that jar of granola you need to slap it out of my hand #HelpMe

Loved my selection of fresh fruit and veg this morning.

Italian Carosello cucumber to the left and fresh gherkins in the middle.

Romano peppers, greengages, red spring onions and rainbow carrots.

I’ve been wanting to try for a while, and I have a bumper crop of greengages, as well as many pears. The latter are quite small and a bit mealy, so it felt like a good time to experiment.

Celebrating my #HugoAward Florence style, with tortellini, pizza, melon, an 80 month Parmesan, gelato, and my favorite wine, a local Chianti sold unlabeled by a farmer out of his van at the farmer’s market.

I am roasting the forgotten, slightly over, greengages in orange juice and a splash of Cointreau in the base of an air fryer tray

Darn it. I forgot I bought greengages from the market on Tuesday. They’re a bit pulpy so I’ll cook them

Greengages?

Hopefully some of it will be ok to make some grafts at the end of winter and keep the lineage going, they're incredible greengages

A particularly colourful Wochenmarkt (Farmers Market) here in Germany.

Flowering Artichokes on the left and Greengages on the right. The two stalls selling the greengages labelled them as Renekloden and ReneClaude, which appear to be German versions of the French, Reine Claude (Queen Claude).

Love greengages… haven’t got them in the garden. Rarely see them in the shops either- they’re delicious indeed

All our greengages were got at by wasps this year. When they are edible they are delicious.

The finish - Nice and viscous, staying spicy with a platter of fruits, green grapes and greengages. It’s a nice dram, with plenty of depth, and you certainly done need to go looking for flavour, it has plenty #OneCaskAtATime
