#greenstuff
To many projects going, so a reset was in order. A kitbash for a W&G npc I have seemed like a good idea. All thats left is a few greenstuff ideas and I have 3 experiences with greenstuff. So can only go will.

Genestealer cult Acolyte. Demolitions attendant. No legs so made a robe from greenstuff and greeblies.

This marks mini number 20 amobg genestealer cults painted within a month.

Painboss to go with my squighog riders, waiting on the greenstuff to set so I can merge the body to legs. #orks #wh40k #orktober

I haven't tried my hand at sculpting in months and it shows. Though it's very satisfying to see the progress from cloak to cloak.

I paint them assembled cos during assembly sometimes you get small gaps you need to fill/patch with greenstuff or other methods and that would ruin your paintjob. Also glue can ruin your paintjob if it leaks out during assembly…

as my supply of green stuff 2 part epoxy runs low, i am reminded about the terrible news from a year ago-ish where the only factory that makes it went out of business. was there ever a resolution to that or is greenstuff now an extinct commodity? did anyone pick up the torch?

Realizing I can sculpt whatever I want was a mistake, as I slap together this fucked up little beast as a Legion Champion for my shattered legion force, finally bringing me up to 3k points once they're done.
Still some sculpting to do.

Happy Sunday.
While spending time on a wet and windy family holiday in Conwy Wales. I packed the tools and Greenstuff and did some sculpting. The WIPs so far for medieval beekeepers and a hive. Useful for a variety of medieval settings.

Yeah, getting Greenstuff over here is impossible. I'm currently rationing what little I have and learning to work with miliput instead.
Hopefully a new formula is settled on and new batches are released soon

Hobby streak day 439, I installed some greenstuff tubing on the floating head and the cultists. I gave one of them a pole to host a banner in the future.

The key I've found to working with miliput is to avoid any dampness on the tools or model unless I'm doing gap filling.
Even with that in mind, it's a much more sensitive material than Greenstuff.

30 years ago on 10/24/1996, the world was introduced to Lara Croft, the legendary Tomb Raider.

To celebrate, I finally sculpted a new Lara (my first since 2008) using a Spider-Girl and a ton of Greenstuff, then photographed her in Gifu, Japan.

I finished my Holy Grail, Prince Imrik. I was also inspired to replace the plastic banner on my Lothern Seaguard with brass rod and greenstuff stuff banner. The freehand took ages.

There are variants of miliput, like the white superfine that might be better suited. Still not greenstuff though.

I know some sculptors also use oven-bake poly-clay like FIMO.

I was gifted many little gloomspite goblins from a friend exiting the hobby. So I use them as a base to build onto. The rest is greenstuff, milliput, polymer clay and wire mostly (flame on the candle is hotglue 😅)

Goblins are naturally messy so it's easy for mistakes to turn into added flavour!

I spent far too long on this Iron Warriors Predator but it's close to ready for an undercoating, with custom trim and so much conversion work and yet it still needs greenstuff

Oh absolutely. I always procrastinate on painting and any sort of greenstuff/filling in gaps work. My main project is currently sitting on ice because the next step would be to paint some things and do some spackling work and all of my creative hobby energy seems to go into new projects instead.
October 18, 2026 at 11:18 AM
I did not, however, glue the two parts together yet.
I would have been way easier to close the gaps with greenstuff once everything was in one piece but I do not want to re-paint the whole mini if I do not have to.

So I was able to prime the legs without the top part.

Also answering the question ‘is air-dry clay a suitable alternative to greenstuff?’ With a resounding, no
October 16, 2026 at 7:56 PM
I kept some of the extra flavor bits (a book, pistol, loincloth) for later, built the legs of a raptor and used a lot of dry fittin to cut the top in a way that fit the broken off chestpiece.

Then I applied greenstuff, let it cure a bit, and dry-fittet that again to get the correct shape.

Entry submitted for @ebonscale.bsky.social’s painting challenge.

Build, bashed, primed, painted, and based in about 2 hours.

Couldn’t find my greenstuff so fudged it with air-dry clay and a microwave.

The most surprising one i read today was "yeah so we stopped making Ork Cyboars so heres how to craft your own with WHFB boars, plasticard, greenstuff and 40k bike wheels". The modern "we are selling monopose toys for a board game" GW would faint at such a concept.

I've posted a blog post with photos of all #TheStoneskulls completed so far:

There are more to come, but I'm still building them, and they need greenstuff hats and whatnot.

Thank you. Honestly mushrooms are a very forgiving shape. All the little mushrooms are just what a make out of whatever left over greenstuff/milliput I have after doing something else with it.

I'm not particularly good at sculpting either tbh. But mushrooms you truly can't go wrong with.
