Another big change: the ultra fast networks of 2022 have largely been overtaken by younger, better ones, all using the same technology (by which I mean charging hardware and interfaces). So Gridserve, Ionity, Instavolt, are not my first choice any more (tbf instavolt never was); 5/x

We’ve put the Inster’s battery pre-conditioning to the test on the short drive from the hotel to the services, so it’s slurping down enough electrons to get us to Edinburgh or, hopefully Kinross.

Spotted a Tesla Model 3 minicab driver charging at Gridserve at Heston Services despite the entire Tesla Supercharger area being empty. The rate at Tesla is 43p/kWh, the Gridserve 79p/kWh. Either he is unaware or he is getting free vend.
