Chang'e-3 just started transmitting today at 19:25 UTC on X-Band with groundstation sweep and lock. It landed on the Moon at Mare Imbrium in December 14, 2013 and is still communicating with Earth during lunar days.

Not quite a full disk illumination for this "blue marble" shot from GOES-18 at 11:30 AM PDT. Two hours to go for the full disk to be lit up! As received and processed in Vancouver with my @Nooelec groundstation (grid/dish antenna, LNA, SDR, plus a Raspberry Pi for image processing).

Cool! One of the most popular satellite tracking programs was written for the C64, the successor of SatPC32, by Erich DK1TB. However, I was in the ATARI faction. My first non-homebuilt computer was an ATARI 400/600 used at the groundstation for TT&C the AMSAT P3 satellites.

Inside of the fairing for T1TL-B are 21 satellites built by York Space Systems that will be part of the SDA's PWSA Transport Layer. This is a constellation of relay satellites that Tracking Layer satellites can use to downlink data, even when no groundstation is in sight.

It appears we have a surprise GEO launch coming up soon! Intelsat has made a groundstation filing for LEOP support for the PR-8000 satellite NET July. Exhibits attached to the filing indicate this the Dror-1 satellite. Given the timing, it'll likely be launched on a Falcon 9.
