Rugby Wildlife Group were back at the KIlsby Lane LWSite today. Cutting broad pathways down the East side, leaving Ragwort flowers and controlling spread of Bramble and suckering Blackthorn growth as we go. A much warmer day than forecast and muggy too. #habitatmanagement .....

Rain stopped right on cue for the annual rake up of cut vegetation on the Red Moss of Netherley path. After 10+ years of management, the Yellow-rattle is becoming increasingly dominant and @scotwildlife.bsky.social ranger, Lewis, had made short work of it with the brushcutter.

Yesterday the Practical work party team was back at the Little Haven. The paths around the ponds were cut & raked, the orchard ride tided & hedge work carried out. Also wildflower seeds sown ready for next years butterflies. 🦋

WOODY ENCROACHMENT ELIMINATED (for now)! The landowner of this prairie finally cut back almost all woody encroachment and old growth herbaceous perennials! A bit earlier than I'd like, but this is still emulating wildfires during the summer. The plants will be fine. #HabitatManagement
