Turned a tangled debacle first try at Andean plying into rolags.

This little lamb fleece is absurdly soft. Jack has shorter staple lengths, making him an ideal hand carding candidate. Couldn't resist bringing him home for the business after feeling the handle!

I've spent hours over the last week, taking a fleece I washed last summer and separating it out into locks to make life easier when it comes to carding or combing the fleece.

whoever carded these rolags from the beginning of this project, they did a much worse job than the person who carded the ones at the end

I been working through them backwards and they're a real disaster here on bobbin three

dunno what that loser was doing with their pre-RSI handcarding

I recently found a drum carder on gumtree for a small fraction of what they usually sell for, and I bought it sight unseen because handcarding everything isn't really doable with my joints. I was a little dubious, but cleaned it up really well, and I have to say: worth every penny.🧶

Getting over a cold, but feeling okay enough to play with some Dorset. This is the fleece I washed over the weekend, picked open and carded into rolags. The texture is delightfully spongy and quite soft (I'd guess microns in the mid-high 20s?).
