Managed to get the FM Towns version running in Tsugaru, you have to set game port 1 to "none" or the game freezes after any input, seems to happen in real hardware too apparently?
Music is nice, but the track loop pause is looooong. Also the devs were probably big fans of Night Striker.

The 6502 had no hardware multiply, so programmers used lookup tables. Store the squares of 0-511 in a table, then use the identity (a*b) = ((a+b)^2 - (a-b)^2) / 4. Two table lookups and a subtraction instead of a shift-and-add loop. The 6502 taught you math tricks no textbook covered.

Both the calculation of the field (using Biot-Savart's Law) and the flow lines are done numerically - so this has maxed out my hardware :)

i finally got all my console audio into line in on my motherboard and i have a ground loop isolator for the audio. hopefully this irons out an issues i have with using real hardware

That distinction doesn't hold up in practice because the AI generates the content, so the system is still responsible for what it produces. Mickai keeps everything on your hardware offline, so the human stays in the loop without the machine leaking data.
