A bad frog day: Trade my pet for your camera, sir?

This young man figured out I was friendly. Fascinated by my camera, he was offering a trade.

I had much more need of my camera than a highly annoyed frog, so I had to decline.

Prasat Lolei, ប្រាសាទលលៃ, is the northernmost temple in the old capital of the Khmer empire Hariharalaya. Finished in 893CE, the temple group of four towers was dedicated to Shiva.

King Yasovarman I later moved the capital to Yaśodharapura, near Angkor Thom.

Prasat Kôk Svay Pream is one of the oldest temples in Angkor area.

It was probably built nearly a 100 year before the Khmer Empire.

Only some small remains of a brick wall, an entrance gate and a lingam basin are left. The rest is covered by thick growth of green.

That nice sunny day I revisited Prasat Lolei.

Lolei is the northernmost temple in the old capital of the Khmer empire Hariharalaya.

Finished in 893CE, the temple group of four towers was dedicated to Shiva and to members of the royal family by king Yasovarman I.

Greeting the sunrise that morning at Bakong Temple.

Bakong was the first temple mountain type of architectural design in the Khmer imperial era, build in Hariharalaya.

I am tomorrow teaching a dayschool about the #AngkorWat komplex to mature #archaeology students and I am enjoying all the new fieldwork of the last 10 years including the huge #remotesensing and mapping work which revealed how the outlaying sites like the Ruolos complex and Phnomh Kulen fit together
