Banteay Srei is a Hindu temple in the Angkor area, famous for its small, intricate carvings and widely regarded as the jewel of Khmer art. It is my favorite temple in the Roluos Group.

Le sol est sable non voit un 1 er édifice fé à droite et l’ensemble de temples dans lefond Vu du hee as ut d’un des temple on voit un éléphant qui a perdit sa trompe et derrière 2 édifices ainsi que la forêt Porte d’un temple construite en brique et de couleur sable 2 édifices en briques rouges en partie surélevés, le sol est jaune de sable et de gazon jauni par la chaleur

This young man figured out I was friendly. Fascinated by my camera, he was offering a trade.

I had much more need of my camera than a highly annoyed frog, so I had to decline.

Prasat Lolei, ប្រាសាទលលៃ, is the northernmost temple in the old capital of the Khmer empire Hariharalaya. Finished in 893CE, the temple group of four towers was dedicated to Shiva.

King Yasovarman I later moved the capital to Yaśodharapura, near Angkor Thom.

The dancing apsaras reliefs are visible, but the one closest is mostly a green-grey outline. Its neighbour tower is more completely renovated, and the red bricks on the top is clean red. It is early on a sunny day with slightly overcast blue sky. The morning sun gives the towers a warm yellow-red glow. Arrival of the god kings of Khmer
The Sambor Prey Kouk and the city atound it was abandoned when a new royal dynasty established the first Khmer capital in Kulen Mountain and later Hariharalaya. These are near modern day Siem Reap, in Roluos southeast of that city.

Prasat Kôk Svay Pream is one of the oldest temples in Angkor area.

It was probably built nearly a 100 year before the Khmer Empire.

Only some small remains of a brick wall, an entrance gate and a lingam basin are left. The rest is covered by thick growth of green.

Bakong Temple, one of the three main temples in Roluos, located 13 km southeast of Siem Reap. Built in 881 CE, it's one of the earliest major temple mountains of the Khmer Empire. This pivotal structure established the temple-mountain concept that would later culminate in Angkor Wat. #cambodia
