Libraries are precious commodities. Movies, books, and almost all of the audiobooks available on Audible. We cut our cable with Hauppage and a digital antenna, use one streaming service a month (that we switch out). $15/mo + a library card = most of our entertainment costs. Internet is still $$.

My capture/streaming path was like Gamebridge, some avermedia s-video/composite usb dazzle like device, a hauppage box, then the C127, elgato hd60pro, & finally the GC573. I don't really have the budget to get a datapath or epiphan or blackmagic. I sold Persona 2 to pick up the GC573

Back when I had an Amiga 4000 in a tower case with a Mediator 4000 PCI, I had a hauppage wintv card, and I wrote a driver for the IR receiver. It enabled me to control applications via ARexx using the remote.

Uploaded this tape but I think there might be an issue with my capture device (an old Hauppage) when it runs for too long and this came fresh off the heels of another tape rip.
Im gonna try and re rip it tomorrow. But on the plus side I don't think this has been archived.

It's not a card exactly, but I've been using a Hauppage PVR2 for years for console capture and streaming.
It's not gonna help you with lag though. I play off a TV and ignore the output window. Surely there's SOMEthing better than this thing on the market nowadays.

I'm glad to have two captures cards. My Avermedia crapped out. It started smelling and it stopped working. Not as bad as my Hauppage though faulty power connector and that bitch caught on fire!

* Changed v4l-cx23885-avcore-01.fw to Hauppauge official - this WILL be overwritten after a linux-firmware update.
* Added v4l-cx23885-enc.fw from Hauppage official drivers - this is not distributed within Linux due to legal issues.

OK this may be legit. First image is taken over s-video in virtualdub with a Hauppage capture card. Second video is with VHS-Decode. Definitely some vibrancy lost (and I'm sure there are a lot of things I could tweak) but there's a lot more definition in them thar mountains.
