I never felt so small when I reached the art room at the end of the first week and found myself being the only girl left of the five girls and seven guys from the first day of class. What a sight we must've been: a vertically challenged girl surrounded by over 5'8 guys and a 6'4 teacher.

I never felt so small, when I was invited to meet a gathering of the greats. There was Mozart, at the piano, there was Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci talking of his latest inventions. Oscar Wilde was spinning a yarn. Shakespeare was conversing with Virginia Wolf, while Mary Shelley looked on.

The drill whirred up to speed then bore down on my tooth with an ear-splitting whine. Then there was the dull crunching as it ground its way inside. Lightning flashes of pain traversed my face as I tried to breathe through choking debris and mist. I never felt so small or vulnerable.
