ARK's citizen scientists have been out on the banks of the Kennet MoRPh surveying last years river restoration works at The Wilderness.
We use this standardised method to measure how rivers respond after restoration.

All reported to EA and Southern Water. But sewage in the top of the Grom seems to come from illegal releases into the river while it’s culverted through Tunbridge Wells town. No one accepts it’s their problem #sewage #healthyrivers #wewontgiveup

More instant habitat improvement on the Kennet. Local business TechAir joined us for a corporate volunteer day learning to harvest, tie and plant stream-water-crowfoot.
Healthy rivers need healthy habitats. For 2027 bookings email anna@kennetandpang.org

When rivers can be rivers, wildlife bounces back 🌊
How Beck near St John’s Beck once had just 4 trout per 100m². After restoration with boulders, trees and woody debris, our latest survey shows there are now 80 🐟

Nature bounces back when it has the right conditions. #HealthyRivers #NatureRecovery

Storm drains take what goes down them straight to the river.
No interception, no filtering, no treatment.
So please love your river and don't put anything down these drains. No cigarette butts or other litter. #binthebutt #BagItBinIt #OnlyRainDownTheDrain #yellowfish #chalkstream #healthyrivers

The theme was fundable catchment action plans, as well as networking & knowledge sharing with other catchment hosts from across the Thames catchment.

Decent buffers of native marginal plants well and truly established on the Kennet, Manton.
Less erosion, river corridor connectivity, food, cover, nesting site for so many species 💙💚

Cumbria’s rivers need us. 83% of rivers in the Lake District are severely modified & only 1% of floodplains are healthy wetlands. Cuts have slashed funding by 96% for our trust – the future of river restoration is at risk. #RiverRestoration #HealthyRivers

Day 3 on our #ConnectingtheKennet river habitat improvement project.
More fabulous volunteers, including new faces coppiced trees, used these for backfill in the buffer we're creating along the riverbank; and planted lots of flag iris, purple loosestrife & figwort. #healthyrivers #community
