Stand down. Twas a successful dry run.

Wasn't given much detail beyond "transplant heart not viable."

They'll reverse Abba's sedation and intubation in the AM, with discharge hopefully Saturday.

Good practice. Because it's gonna happen.

Sur Here's a face to my response-my husband got his heart 1/8/25- without MEDICARE He'll DIE FROM REJECTION and so will Thousands of others without those antirejection meds Medicare pays for!

Abba's in the OR. Surgery should take about 8 hours (they have to remove the LVAD first, and then do the transplant). Fingers crossed. 🤞🏽

Just heard from the surgeon and no complications! He said the new heart is strong and Abba did well!!

He'll stay sedated and intubated in the Cardiac ICU overnight and they'll try to have him awake by some time tomorrow.

What a relief!!!!

Aight we at the hospital, got a room, and already spoke with his transplant doctor.

We're still waiting for full confirmation on the donor side, but things are looking promising. 🫶🏽

They took him down for pre-op, said go home, and if all goes well they'll call me once the transplant is done. Minimum 8 hours and they probably won't get started for another hour or two.

So I'm gonna go home and have some prosecco.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but this morning in the 1st mile of my training run I linked together 2 of my sprints for the 1st time in my entire life.

I was born w/ a malformed heart & couldn’t #run at all until after my #hearttransplant 7 years ago.

One of my daughters is in hospital for pre-operative tests. It's huge: a heart transplant, but she's looking after herself by checking out the wellbeing/spiritual support area...Thank God for the hospitals who do this.
