I love helebores
It will not grace me with flowers this spring, since I went from the pot into the ground just last season.
Still, I am thrilled it is on the move in my new place 🌱💚

when I started gardening in the East Bay, I would just buy whatever plants I liked, & stick them in the existing dirt (which is like clay) & water them. Azaleas & fuschias were dead within a month. Helebores were non-starters. So surprising. I've trial-&-errored where, when, & how to plant. 🌱

This is what I have always loved about the NW: snowdrops here as well as helebores. Daffies are on their way.
The trees are green (evergreen trees here), daffodils are pushing up, and hellebores are in full bloom. If the plants can continue so can I.

Share your glimmers! My Helebores are in full bloom. They are the only plant that blooms in the freezing cold. Poisonous, so plant them where pets can't get to them. I get mine at Trader Joe's around Christmas and plant them in the shade in the spring. They come back every year.

Helebores and Lillies of the Valley! Lovely and poisonous. I would also try Datura. I haven't had luck with the last one.
