The poem was written by Hiba Abu Nada.
She and I would be a similar age, but she died in her home from an Israeli airstrike in 2023.

Family photos in Gaza are different, but they are together, they were together, & they departed, together". This poem was created by Hiba Abu Nada, who was my age-- or would be, if she had not died from an Israeli airstrike in 2023.
