Meanwhile, over here, a SINGULAR Sausage McMuffin costs $4.19!

I will say this. I always thought that those hoping for some “sane” military leader to refuse an unlawful nuke order were kidding themselves. But I do think the possibility of refusal is far higher after the midterms than before.

It’s the kind of idea where you either grasp it by leap of intuition or you don’t. There’s no verbal maneuvering you can use to make somebody successfully generalize the idea of higher order space.

Also, plenty of atheists have commitments to a "higher order", that's why ideologies exist, and religious people bend or break the rules all the time. The distinction between atheist and religious ethics are essentially false.
