I had to ply up a bit of alpaca today. This will free up the spindle I will need to ply the qiviut on. This is a birdseye maple spindle that weighs .9 of an ounce. She's pretty, isn't she? I'm sorry, I can't remember the maker. #highwhorlspindle #dropspindlespinning #birdseyemaple #fiberarts

After 3 straight hours of work, the qiviut is plied. I'm really happy that I got the spin right and none of it separated while plying. I used my andean plying trick near the end to keep it a continuous yarn. Tomorrow I'll know my yardage. #spindlespinning #yarnspinner #qiviutyarn #highwhorlspindle

I bought another wine case to transport my spindles safely. I was going to paint it blue, but the color is nicer in person than expected. I am going to add a tiny Tardis on it somewhere though. The swirls just make me think of galaxies. #reuse #yarnspinner #dropspindlespinning #highwhorlspindle
