A three-time national pigeon rolling champ keeps a flock of 250 birds just north of the cities. His hobby spans decades and started when he was just 12 years old catching (and then releasing) street pigeons in St. Paul.

Hospitals at least around here (RI-MA) have translators on call in a wide range of languages, from Spanish (common) to Hmong, Thai, Haitian Creole, Arabic, ASL. It's essential to providing medical care.

About 20 years ago I read "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down" re: how difficult it was to be Hmong in the American healthcare system. My uncle had worked in Laos giving the Hmong a written language.
Now, in Cali, interpreters speak Hmong (among many others).

Trump has NEVER won Minnesota. Its 19th century Scandinavian/German heritage cultivated some of USA’s leading liberal thinkers, and its growing Hmong and Somali communities continue the state’s rich liberal traditions.

I would add Mandarin too, but that likely isn't feasible until the Yellow Peril crap stops being bipartisan consensus. Spanish though is doable and necessary.
