Two nice pre-war shots of HMS Leander and her Walrus recce/spotter plane. The first one showing clearly how small the Walrus actually was.

HMS Siren had two killed and five wounded from the incident. Two days later boat parties from HMS Flora and HMS Lark burnt the wreck of the Siren, although the Americans had already removed her guns. The grounding was blamed on the Siren's master and the pilot, a local man. #RoyalNavy #NavalHistory
