Schön ist: Wenn die Quellen hOCR haben, kann man sich auch einen Bericht ausgeben lassen, bei dem die Zitate aus dem eigenen Text nochmal dem entsprechenden PDF-Bild-Ausschnitt gegenübergestellt werden, so dass man die volle Kontrolle behält.

The HOCR announcers described our women's 4+ as having flawless technique. One of the rowers told me that on the water, you can hear what the announcers say, and when she heard that she was like, "Flawless technique? Not on that stroke!"

OK, Tesseract's hocr output gets close enough to HTML output - although it eats superscript characters.
The PDF output strikes a balance between visual fidelity and searchability - but it can't reflow properly.
Might be as far as I can take it. Will sleep on the problem.
