Like, I hate to give him credit, because I genuinely was over the character for a while even before he sided with phil, but HOOKhausen was Hook's high point as a character. Take those elements, add a delusional preppy, throw it in some broth, add some potatoes, baby you got a stew going!

I keep saying Conglomeration because the time he was most over by FAR was Hookhausen. He's a very unconvincing tough guy but a GREAT straight man to weirdos.

Orange Cassidy's first ~year in AEW was just random appearances and silly gags, barely ever going in the ring. I think Danhausen was entirely capable of making it work (Hookhausen, both as rivals and as partners, seemed popular), but he kept getting injured and needing time away.

The fans loved him every time he was on tv? HookHausen was super over. His random appearances were over. They just didn't seem to want to out him on tv too much, to me.

Kris Statlander's aborted heel turn and breaking her off from the Best Friends was the worst booking decision AEW's ever made.
They've made other bad ones - dropping Hookhausen for no reason, shoehorning Cope into the Death Rider feud - but that's the one that still makes me angry. 🤼♂️

Mine is that Warhorse was unfairly maligned as a gimmick wrestler by people less than familiar with his body of work, and that shitty match with Cody was all the proof they needed. His IWTV title run was actually great, but next to no one watched that.

Hookhausen should have stick around much longer.
It really bugs me how uninterested AEW was in giving him a shot. A handful of comedy spot, and then he vanished.
