#hussie
reading homestuck with commentary and two things became clear;

* hussie is REALLY REALLY WORRIED that people won't understand what is happening
* nobody, in the entire webcomic, ever has a motivation to perform an action. it's always fate, or compulsion, or a prank.

O swag do Hussie

* andrew hussie both hates formalism, and loves formalism, a very tense situation. the text constantly clowns on ludic and literary tropes, while insisting that the story's focus on Archetypes (read: cliches) only makes it greater

"Remember when homestuck was it's own thing and didn't try to squeeze as much internet culture into it as possible"

andrew hussie can sue my ass but i would literally hire them as my elon musk for no reason.

and my first term would literally be me putting more guardrails on transgender healthcare. so hussie would be 100% transphobic for suieing me

this reality only really lends itself to andrew hussie-style absurdism and grotesquerie

So I was today-years-old when I learned the Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff was made by Andrew Hussie and is in the Homestuck universe.

Homestuck innocent
Meta narrative meets actual narrative of Dave is the cool guy hussie likes writing and the blank slate protag literally stepped out of the story but Dave was like child abused to be The Guy and is rejecting it works for me when "I'd hate to be [X]" ironic distancing doesn't

Andrew Hussie created the perfect millennial humor comic, Problem Sleuth, and then was like 'What if I create the perfect zoomer comic?' Homestuck. And even though zoomers were only ten years old at the time, it somehow worked.
