#NVgpose | #hwaguk:bari
My FFXIV OC, Bari (raen au ra, she/her), in a layered dress with various natural and arcane elements. She stands reaching out away from a frame overgrown with flowers with a staff in hand. --------- The dae mudang of Sekkot is often away from the temples and shrines. When Hwaguk was protected under Dangun's mountain and geomantic protection, maintenance of these sites were of upmost importance. Some at Sekkot disagreed with dae mudang, Bari's decision to move past this tradition. "There is no mountain to protect us anymore. We must take up that responsibility ourselves." While some mudang still maintained traditions, many mudang pursued new paths. Some honed their geomancy and gwishin summoning aptitude. The more skilled mudang took to providing relief and support directly to the people of Sekkot. However, the most adventurous followed Bari and travelled across the lands of Etheirys. Sekkot mudang can be found amongst adventurers, artisans, apothecaries, even performers throughout Eorzea and beyond. It had been a long time since Bari had last heard Dangun's voice or felt his aetheric presence. Even in the Lifestream, his soul had dissipated across the Source feeding into people, the trees, the animals, and the very land they all walked upon. The questions of her new existence still prodded at her. Man and gwishin. The tenuous barrier between the two. Soonshin and Jabu had proven how vague that distinction was. Now, Yeomra begged her the question: what justice was there in which souls could subjugate other souls? She walked up to a mountain on a lonely island in the Ruby Sea. A dilapidated shrine to the kami lay under a rocky cliff while the sea gently rolled over the white beach. The shrine was silent against the sea's rhythmic murmuring. She laughed to herself. As if Dangun would have even given her a straight answer. He'd laugh under the wisteria, tend to that old shrine, kick back onto the soft, white sand, and listen to the mountain's song.

Two women, both garbed in travelling attire yet also adorned with fine jewelry of certain signicance, stand poised to fight. Sumire, a Doman midlander hyur woman with light hair, horns, and a tail, focuses intently. She holds no weapon nor magical focus yet she stands unbothered, her stance firm, her hands tenderly grasping at the space around her. Meanwhile, Bari, a raen au ra woman with auburn hair and green eyes, stands defiantly and armed with an ornate glaive. Despite her small frame, Bari seems completely capable to wielding the weapon. Her face is mostly obscured with a hood and a monstrous mask which covers her mouth. Meanwhile, motes of aether and a swarm of blue butterflies gather around them. --- The attack was sudden. An "attack" might even be a stretch. Upon hearing the faintest snapping of branches, Sumire began to act. Bari could feel the air tense around them and the familiar wails and songs of gwishin and kami. Bari knew what havoc could be wrought by such primal magic, not only to the bandits who were only sizing up what seemed like easy pickings but also to Sumire's own mind and body. Bari quickly put on a bronze mask. Underneath, Bari smiled the dokkaebi's smile. She spoke his words and her body moved in his practiced ways. Bari always played with him and laughed at his jokes the most. All she asked was to beat up the ugly meanies before their friend hurt herself. Let's make it fun, she said. How many mean bandits can you beat up before our friend wakes up? How funny would it be for you to finish her job before she even wakes up? He thought to himself: bandits are no fun after all, they scare away all the children in the morning and the funny drunkards at night. With all the ringing around him. he could tell that even the old ones were not happy with the bandits. As he swiftly shut up all the crying and screaming bandits, he wondered why Bari's friend looked so much like the old ones.

My FFXIV OC, Bari (raen au ra, she/her), as she appears in her incarnated gwishin form. Instead of manifesting gwishin as a mudang shaman, stories told of her alongside the faith of her followers and the people of Sekkot has transformed her soul to something akin to a gwishin. Her auburn hair and green eyes now take on a white color that radiates light. She is adorned with fine jewelry and blessed crystals like sage-kings of Hwaguk's past. By her side, a gwishin in the form of a white deer walks beside her with pink flowers growing from its antlers. Light from the two illuminate the misty, dark forest surrounding them

Bari herself wields white magic and geomancy but can channel willing gwishin to use their martial skills and augment her physical prowess
