Minnesota Voters Leave ‘I Voted’ Stickers at Memorials for ICE Shooting Victims
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA — Minnesota voters transformed their Election Day stickers into memorials Tuesday, placing “I Voted” decals at sites honoring Renee Good and Alex Pretti, two U.S. citizens killed by federal agents during the Trump administration’s Operation Metro Surge. Photos from Minneapolis showed dozens of stickers covering signs, poles and other objects at the memorial sites. The gesture tied Election Day directly to an immigration crackdown that became one of Minnesota’s most contentious political issues this year. Good, a 37-year-old writer and mother, and Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive-care nurse at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, were killed in January during federal immigration operations. Their deaths triggered protests and continuing demands from their families for greater transparency and accountability. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Some voters explicitly connected their ballots to the shootings. A retired physician who had worked with Pretti left his sticker at the memorial, while another voter said visiting Good’s memorial made his vote feel connected to what Minneapolis experienced during the federal operation. Immigration enforcement remained a major issue for Minnesota voters throughout the campaign. The Star Tribune reported that several voters cited Operation Metro Surge and ICE activity as important reasons for supporting Democratic candidates. The memorials ultimately became more than places of mourning on Election Day, serving as visible expressions of how deeply the federal immigration crackdown shaped political engagement across Minneapolis. NEW POST: a four-level pyramid, shaped like Maslow's hierarchy of needs, for immigration conversations. A conservative friend and I talked past each other over cigars because we were on different levels and didn't know it. joshbrahm.substack.com/p/immigratio...
The Immigration Hierarchy of Needs
Both sides have legitimate concerns on all four levels of the immigration debate. Here’s the framework that helped me stop talking past conservatives.

I've heard many stories about the horrific family separation policies organized by the new WH Chief of Staff, Steven M*ller in the first Tr*mp administration. It was also a time to reflect as an adoptee how the cognitive dissonance surrounding adoption was ignored. howluckyuare.com/the-hidden-l...
