PMI: “The overall rise in prices charged for goods and services in May was the steepest since August 2022, which is indicative of consumer price inflation moving sharply higher.” 🇺🇸

So let's talk about this because people are, naturally, going nuts.

Amazon have put a placeholder price so they can take preorders. If they highball it and it's lower, great. If they lowball and it's higher, they have to fulfil.

This is in no way indicative of actual price.

I tried to create a design to sell. I already uploaded it to VG3n, but the price is indicative and It can be negotiated. If you're interested, send me a private message here!

🇺🇸🤔 A European official said that the United States is "not convinced" about lowering G7 price cap on Russian crude oil, - Reuters

🇪🇺🇺🇦 The EU has proposed revising the cap down to an indicative level of $50 a barrel. Ukraine has pushed for an even lower price of $30 a barrel.

HSBC goes overweight global equities to the “max”.

“.. Yesterday’s price action is indicative of ‘peak fear’ to us with some of our positioning indicators flashing pandemic-type signs. We are now max OW equities .. prefer Asia & Europe the most, US the least.”

“A single item went up in price” is something that happens every month, every year, every administration. If that’s the metric people should ALWAYS believe inflation is out of control. But for some reason they’re started cherry picking these increases as indicative of the whole economy.
I think this, like many Stancil posts, is a conflation of anecdata and statistical data (single item prices vs aggregate prices).

Price of item X might in fact be up 10-50%, while in aggregate the prices of all items might not.

But to someone who buys a lot of item X it will FEEL like they did.
This is a popular explanation but if you actually talk to people they will swear up and down that prices are massively up under Trump - 10%, 25%, 50%!

It’s outright false, provably false. Inflation is under 3%. At some point we need to acknowledge that people are simply wrong.

Indicative price has dropped from $173 to $150. Bit of a wobble

It also deducts the average wholesale price excluding VAT rather than the indicative price and there is no 0,68 reduction factor. As a result the compensation amount is much larger then when it comes to the domestic subsidies.

This is a WILD jump in price, and it's indicative of how the AI vacuum has sucked up all of the available silicon on planet earth and made consumer electronics prices absurd.
Valve has raised Steam Deck prices in the US

• 512GB OLED $549 -> $789

That price bump plus the tone of the new owners/managers is highly indicative of an extractive blowout coming soon.

Guys…I’m not saying undocumented workers are bad workers. I’m saying that having such a high share of an industry’s workers not even having the right to be in the country is indicative of a huge labor shortfall, which will have consequences for price, quantity, and quality.

ONS have published first "indicative" estimates of *regional* GDP since 2023 (they were suspended).

Show London substantially outperforming (followed by NW)

[NB this is *current*, ie nominal, GDP - the final figures will be CVM, ie adjusted for price changes]

Me: does a post about how short-term price movements aren't indicative of a longer-term trend.

This moron: block this guy, he doesn't understand that short-term price movements aren't indicative of a longer-term trend.

I pass & will not buy anything w/o a posted price that I take a pic of & I argue at the register, no matter how small & no matter how long it takes, if the price is too high & indicative of price gouging OR if the receipt shows different. Boycott everything based on dynamic pricing.

Across the board, we see rising subscription prices, digital-only game releases, and a lack of hardware price drops, which are indicative of a focus on maximizing ARPU within a console market where platform holders are no longer seeing substantial install base growth. (16/19)

Hey if someone is posting a stock price drop the first thing you should do it check if it's set to 1D because single day variance is not really very indicative of anything and if you pull the stock up yourself and set it to past 6 months you'll often realize nothing is fucking happening at all

Palantir/Bitcoin:

-peaked in first half of Q4
-are speculative assets

Those common factors are more indicative of what’s driving the price action than even Palantir being a software company, or having solid quarterly results.

Nike's stock price is indicative of a lack of innovation and currentness (no hot product).

It has nothing to do with Kaepernick. Good for them for standing up for Black people with that stance.

That's because we have been in a country that has implicitly allowed corporations to price gouge every day Americans post record profits quarter over quarter since COVID.

The 1% has to extract maximum dollar from every possible angle. The prices are literally indicative of unfettered Capitalism
Possibly relatedly, I am regularly stunned by how much cheaper food is here, in Scotland, where everyone warned us "oh food is so expensive there!" than back home in the US

Y'all our grocery bills are HALF as much in Scotland than in the US, for much greater quality food.

What these cunts seem incapable of understanding is butter has become a flashpoint, it's indicative of how expensive everything has become. Since C-19 words like Greedflation have entered our lexicon, & we are not ashamed to say we can't afford things. We want to perpetrators to be ashamed #NZPol

And last week we rejected the EU's price for joining SAFE. You can fairly argue that the EU was trying to rinse us on that one, but it's not exactly indicative of a willingness to take risks to engage with Europe.
