#industrialization
The GOP has offered nothing this century except for catastrophic wars. No healthcare plan; no re-industrialization. Now they're losing their only issue, immigration, as people see the violence and havoc that comes with mass deportations.
Wow! What sounded like the entire AEW Dynamite audience in Las Vegas tonight chanted "Fuck ICE! Fuck ICE!" in unison before the main event

Famously, textiles had nothing to do with industrialization!

Not to mention, when we sent weapons to Ukraine, we made more here in the US to replenish our stockpiles. Arming Ukraine *supported* the industrialization of America. Biden's jobs record speaks for itself.
Vance has, for years, used this technique where he mischaracterizes the position of his opponents by taking it to an extreme that they never advocated, then arguing w/that fictitious position. Supporters don’t want “permanent” shipments, nor did we advocate de-industrialization.

The Lord of the Rings is considered a fantasy because the trees win the battle against industrialization.

It is good that the workers movements figured out that industrialization (and post-industrialization) can be exerted on behalf of the many.
Say what one likes about communism etc but Marx did a world-historically good thing when he issued the corrective that workers should not be clawing in the dirt for rural communitarianism for the next 1000 things while we invent machinery that can produce at 100000x the rate of our ancestors

Industrialization of knowledge work is going to be as disruptive a shift as industrialization of physical labor was. As then, once craft-driven fields are under pressure to produce greater volumes of product using machines while using less of the craft that made the work interesting & meaningful.

1: "no one died during collectivization"
2: "okay some people did but it was necessary for industrialization"
3: "okay it wasn't necessary but THOSE FUCKING KULAKS HAD IT COMING"
...
4: "no one died during collectivization"
“He didn’t do it but it’s cool that he did” is a relatively common structure for denialism of awful things of all kinds

Honest question. Even before offshoring wasn't the US garment industry since industrialization dominated by immigrants?

You’re right Hitler lied and beat the Soviet Union easily and expected all their industrialization
simply not going to entertain world class dipshits who credulously read Hilter at his word. that would be, I suppose in this user's parlance, crazyyyyy bsky.app/profile/nerd...
These two comments from Hitler himself demonstrate this well I think

In Sweden, you get German industrialization, Silicon Valley innovation, and Bernie Sanders-like social policies. It can all peacefully coexist.

BREAKING: Today, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum opened all 1.56 million acres of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s Coastal Plain to oil and gas leasing. These lands are sacred to the Gwich’in Nation, home to irreplaceable wildlife and wilderness, and have never seen industrialization.

Now we have changed our environment: industrialization, trade, liberalism, democracy - all 'software' that makes us more prosperous but also which rewards cooperation and peaceful competition.

War, conquest, ethnic cleansing, genocide: these are now *losing* strategies.

It’s not the free market of ideas, it’s import substitution industrialization for far right shit. By going back you’re only legitimizing it when the question you should be asking if you care is “how do we get everyone else to realize it’s a funhouse mirror?”

"it is possible to build supply generation within those communities"

my buddy, my friend, my dude, that's what 'industrialization' is and it is not necessarily a quick or easy process.
