Letters From The Front is a collection of 32 poems that takes the reader from the first days of trauma recovery to the victories of regaining balance and sense of self. As the poems progress, healing progresses and is more complete with each finished stanza. Woefully little research has been done about the effects of complex post-traumatic stress and even less information flows forth from people in the thick of the fight. By publishing this book, the author hopes to inspire and inform, pulling back the curtains on battles often waged alone and in the dark, hidden from stigma and shame. Letters From The Front reminds readers that they are not alone and should never give up. Touching on themes of surviving indoctrination, abuse, chronic illness, loss, and mental health struggles including CPTSD, anorexia, anxiety, and depression, Letters From The Front shows us the battle from the first shot fired to the sounding bells of victory. Recovery is possible. Never give up. "If we all tried to make other people's paths easy, our own feet would have a smooth, even place to walk on." - Myrtle Reed

Online retailers dealt a heavy blow to brick-and-mortar bookstores, but there's been renewed interest in shopping local. Barnes & Noble is opening a new store at Lansing's Frandor Shopping Center.
