People who fail in a mainstream institutional structure radicalizing and turning against the system they perceive as thwarting their ambitions sounds like to me a thesis with other applications
”What turns people into radical jihadist clerics? A new book suggests thwarted career ambitions. A subset of Muslim clerics who advocate for jihad started out as mainstream clerics looking for state-sponsored jobs…only to become unemployed, disenchanted, and radicalized” news.mit.edu/2017/why-som...

The word “institutional” would be triggered by the phrase “institutional review board” — which many grant applications for biomedical research would use.

How institutional emails encouraging continued applications for federal grants feel right now:

Alt: a man in a tuxedo is playing a violin while everyone is scrambling on the titanic as it is sinking.

I’ll say that it’s much easier to ditch windows than to ditch adobe, working in games. All the institutional work tied up in PSDs with 300 layers are impossible to access in other applications.

I'm hearing from many sources that most/all astro postdocs got massively way applications than ever before. Hubble/51 Peg/institutional, and even non-fellowships. Why is this the case? Buildup from COVID? Is this more applications for jobs in blue states diverted from red ones? 🔭🧪🪐⚛️

Thinking a lot today about hidden rules / social tripwires in things like job & funding applications. So many institutions which view themselves as inclusive - such as unis & arts orgs - actually have entrenched systems of implicit institutional norms that make them inaccessible for outsiders.

The discovery of mRNA’s ability to induce immune response was so groundbreaking it garnered the Nobel Prize in 2023… and has potential applications from vaccines (already proven effective and efficient) to cancer. The cost of this anti-institutional anti-science conspiratorial spasm is enormous

For example, the 1st class would include the cancellation and archiving of institutional TGs, like IMSD, MARC, PREP, etc. and the 2nd, removal of the PDEP from MIRA applications. I would be happy to help keep track of some of these
